Rip Steve

We’re heartbroken to let you all know that this afternoon we had to say our final goodbyes to Steve.

We’re heartbroken to let you all know that this afternoon we had to say our final goodbyes to Steve.

He arrived at the sanctuary in January 2020, after a lady found him wandering around freely on the side of a busy road. After putting an appeal out to try and reunite him with his original owners, nobody came forward, and Steve became a permanent member of our Hopefield family, joining two of our other rescue piggies, Fidget & Peaches.

Over the last couple of weeks, Steve had become quite poorly, and despite trying everything that we could to make him better, there was nothing else that could have been done for him. We’d like to thank The Horse Clinic (House & Jackson) for all their efforts in trying to nurse him back to full health.

He was the sweetest boy, and when he wasn’t lying down letting our team give him belly scratches, he’d be up at the fence greeting all our visitors who loved making a fuss of him.

There’s a Steve-shaped hole in our hearts, and he’ll be sorely missed by all of us.
