Save a Life

…from as little as £2.00 per month – that’s less than the price of a takeaway coffee!

Hopefield Animal Sanctuary is home to over 600 animals that were rescued from abuse, neglect, abandonment, or were unwanted pets, who would have had nowhere else to go. We provide a forever home to our residents, ensuring that they’re provided with the love, care, and treatment that they need and deserve. Sadly, our life-saving work doesn’t come at a small cost, and daily running costs are now over £2,000.

Unfortunately, for the first time in 15 years, our visitor numbers are down, which is causing us rather a lot of worry. Our monthly standing orders have also decreased this year, so we are rebranding our £2 per month scheme as our Save a Life Scheme to highlight how critical this kind of support is to us.

What you'll receive in return:

miley's story

Miley the Shih Tzu came to Hopefield after she was found wandering the streets in a terrible state. This was one of the worst cruelty cases that we have ever seen.

She was underweight, and covered in mange and sores. To make matters worse, she had been feeding a litter of puppies and was producing milk. Unfortunately, the puppies were nowhere to be seen.

After months of bathing, feeding and lots of love, she soon recovered. She now lives a wonderful life with the managers of the sanctuary, Dave and Lianne. Miley is the sweetest and most gentle dog the team have ever seen. We are so proud to have helped her and given her a loving home.

Tyler's story

Tyler was found on a site with 200 other horses, all in a terrible condition, after being left to starve. A few rescues worked together to remove all the horses from the site. The initial plan was that Tyler and his friend were going to come to Hopefield to live out the rest of their lives, happily together, but his friend was so weak from all the neglect that she passed away on the trailer.

When Tyler arrived he wasn’t in good shape at all, but it wasn’t until the vet did a blood test that we found out just how bad his condition was. Tyler ended up in intensive care for several weeks and we weren’t sure whether he would make it. Luckily, with the right care and time, he pulled through, and is now living his best live with his horsey friends at the sanctuary.
