RIP Midnight the Rabbit

We had to say a sad goodbye to dear little Midnight after she became unwell with suspected E-cuniculi.
Midnight arrived a few months ago after her owner had a change of circumstances and could no longer keep her and she settled into life at the animal sanctuary really well. In order to be able to bond her with one of our groups of rabbits she did need to be spayed, and not long after the procedure Midnight became poorly, displaying symptoms of E-cuniculi. This is a type of parasite many rabbits are carriers of and doesn’t show any signs of its presence until the rabbit has a flare up triggered. Stress is one of the main causes of flare ups, and we suspect this is what happened in Midnight’s case.

Midnight might not have been with us for very long, but she was such a sweet soul who enjoyed a fuss from our staff and volunteers and will be missed by us all.
