We have a NEW AMBASSADOR!
Genesis Butler is a 17-year-old Afro Indigenous animal rights and environmental activist and is one of the youngest to give a TEDx talk. Inspired by her great uncle civil rights leader Cesar Chavez, Genesis’ talk “A 10 Year Old’s Vision for Healing the Planet” discussed the negative impact of animal agriculture on the environment. As a leading voice of a generation of activists concerned about climate change, Genesis has spoken at many events worldwide including the Seeds and Chips Global Food Summit, Hollywood Climate Summit and the Environmental Media Association Impact Summit. Genesis was named a real life superhero by Marvel due to her animal advocacy and was featured in Marvel Hero Project on Disney+ . She is the founder of the nonprofit organisation, Genesis for Animals, which raises funds for animal sanctuaries. In 2019, Genesis wanted to continue her activism despite quarantine so she started a global youth-led climate organisation, Youth Climate Save, which raises awareness on the connection between animal agriculture and climate change. This organisation now has over 80 chapters worldwide and helps to mobilise climate activists including providing funding for tree planting, beach clean-ups and outreach. Genesis’ activism has been featured by Harvard, Time for Kids, People, Nickelodeon, Marvel, Crate and Kids, The New York Times, Washington Post and many more.
