Ethical Animal Experiences | Things to do in Essex with kids

Looking for things to do in Essex with kids during the school break? Then how about adding ‘Ethical Animal Experiences’ to your summer holiday line-up?

When it cones to things to do in Essex with kids we’ve always got lots to do and see here at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, but now we’ve got even more… Drum roll please because we’ve just launched our highly anticipated ETHICAL ANIMAL EXPERIENCES! All experiences cost £65 for two people (minimum age is 6-years), and include entrance into the sanctuary, lunch, a sponsorship pack, and a whole lot of memories!

Sheep Shenanigans

Come and make friends with our friendly sheep including Dustin, Dougal, and adorable Simon. As part of the experience you will help prepare a tasty treat and then feed our sheep, assisted by a dedicated member of staff who will answer any questions you have and fill you on the these cheeky character’s stories.

Pig Tickles

Our loveable pigs adore three things above anything else: belly rubs, tickles and food, which is exactly the combination you’ll be providing them with for your Pig Tickles Ethical Animal Experience. You’ll help prep their food and feed hungry piggies including Jammy Dodger, with a member of staff on hand to fill you in on the stories of how these wonderful pigs came to call Hopefield their home.

Cow Cuddles

We have not one but two small herds of rescued cows here at Hopefield, all of who usually welcome a big fuss being made of them. These friendly giants will love meeting you and if they’re in the moooo-d you might even get a cuddle. Bread is their all time favourite treat, so along with a dedicated staff member, you’ll be able to hand feed them and make their day.

Pony Glow Up

Our rescued ponies are definitely fans of being groomed and showing off to one another when they are looking good, so this Ethical Animal Experience will allow you to spend one-on-one time with one of them for you to give them a glorious glow up! You’ll have your own staff member with you to help you out and to fill you in on all the stories that come along with these adorable ponies.

Don’t forget we also have a whole SUMMER OF FUN lined up for the school holidays, and we’re running a daily programme of cool activities that include inflatables, treasure trails, arts & crafts, dinosaurs, and plenty more, all through the summer break. The Hopefield resident animals, reptiles and birds can’t wait to see you all!
