Job Vacancies in Essex: Front of House for Max’s Cafe

We’re looking for a friendly, hard-working Team Leader/Front of House to join us in Max’s Café ready for when we re-open to the public at the end of March!

Hopefield Animal Sanctuary has been running for 40 years and offers a home for life to neglected and unwanted animals. We currently have nearly 700 in our care.

For the last 15 years we have opened more to the public to generate much-needed funds for the animals. One of these improvements to the sanctuary was the development of Max’s Café. This has grown from strength to strength and we’re very proud to serve only 100% plant-based products.

Responsibilities:

• • Carrying out stock checks so our team can process any orders

• • Ensure our catering diary is kept up to date

• • Taking orders on the till/serving customers (cash and card payments)

• • Ensure Max’s Café is kept to a high level of cleanliness

• • Working with our team to organise catering for any events we put on (afternoon teas etc.)

What we’re looking for:

• • Must have a level 2 food hygiene certificate (can be completed after appointment)

• • Good health & safety knowledge

• • Great interpersonal skills, especially with our customers

• • Good under pressure

• • Experience of working well as part of a team

• • Dedicated, with excellent attendance and timekeeping

• • Overtime available in the school holidays and events

• • Please note no annual leave can be taken during busy periods, including school holidays. Cover must be arranged for annual leave outside of busy periods.

• • This is a seasonal position running from the end of March until we shut for winter (which is usually from mid-December). Please note that we usually close on Mondays & Fridays from December so working days/hours will be reduced.
