We’ve put together some incredible deals this Black Friday which will make the PERFECT gifts for your loved ones. The best part is that all proceeds go directly towards the care of our 600+ rescued animals.
The snow arrived at Hopefield this week!
Some of our fluffier residents, like the foxes and tanukis, have enjoyed digging around in the glistening snow. The reindeer have also been quite comfortable, as in the wild they can survive in temperatures of -50 degrees Celsius!
The ice and snow has made it very difficult for our animal carers to carry out their daily duties. As all the taps are currently frozen, the team are having to transport heavy containers of water across the sanctuary to fill up water bottles and buckets. Maintenance man Gavin has been gritting and de-icing many of the paths to help the team move around without slipping over.Feeding animals such as the sheep, goats, alpacas and horses has been quite a challenge but the team quickly think on their feet to find solutions. Also, giving the animals new bandages and other treatments, wasn’t easy as the team battle the weather and cheeky goats. Thank you to everyone who ordered a Valentines Day video. We raised over £600 which will go towards looking after our residents during the winter! We hope your loved ones enjoy their special video.
