Based in Brentwood, Essex, Hopefield is home to nearly 700 rescued animals, and our team plays a vital role in providing their daily care, maintaining high welfare standards and creating a safe, supportive environment for both animals and people.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced animal-care professional who is confident working with large animals, including equines, and has practical yard-management experience.
The successful candidate will support and lead our Animal Caregiver team and volunteers, help coordinate daily animal care and ensure consistently high standards of animal welfare, health and safety across the sanctuary.
This role is not entry-level and is suited to someone with substantial professional experience working with animals and confidence in leading a team.
Our volunteers are an essential part of life at Hopefield, and this role is focused on making sure they feel welcomed, supported and valued throughout their time with us.
The Volunteer Experience Lead will be a friendly and approachable presence across the sanctuary, helping volunteers feel confident in their roles, answering questions, celebrating their contribution and creating a positive experience for everyone who gives their time to support our rescued animals.
