RIP Elvis the Pig

We can’t believe that our lovely girl, Elvis, has crossed the rainbow bridge.
Whilst everyone was busy enjoying our Kids Mega Fun Weekend event at Hopefield last week, staff & volunteers were saddened to find that Elvis the pig had unexpectedly passed away. She was being rested due to a leg injury and had been seen by our vets several times that week. After discussions with the vet, it seems poor Elvis had just given up.
She arrived at the sanctuary in 2014 at just 7 months old, with her friend, Doris, as, like many people that buy pets as pigs, their owner figured out it wasn’t a great idea and needed to find a new home for them.
Sadly we lost Doris a few years ago, and Elvis was then paired up with naughty Dexter, and they would spend their days together chilling in their cosy bed.
Elvis was a real sweetheart and a favourite amongst the Hopefield team – she’ll be sorely missed by all of us.
