Johnny’s cancer treatment hasn’t worked as hoped, so our special boy will soon return to the vets for further treatment. Meanwhile, he’s safe, comfortable and being thoroughly spoilt at Hopefield.
We’ve got a handsome new face to introduce you to, and we’re sure you’ll agree that Marlow is rather lovely. This approximately two-year-old llama has recently arrived at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary in Essex, where he’ll now have the chance to settle into sanctuary life and enjoy a safe, happy future. Marlow came to Hopefield after things sadly weren’t working out with the alpacas he had previously been living alongside. Finding the right environment for every rescue animal is incredibly important, and we’re delighted that Marlow has now found his way to our animal sanctuary.
As with all new arrivals at Hopefield, Marlow is currently spending some time in quarantine. This gives our team the opportunity to make sure he is healthy, comfortable and settling in well before he is introduced to the other animals. So far, he’s doing really well and beginning to get used to his new surroundings. Moving to a new home can be a big change for a rescue animal, so we’re giving Marlow plenty of time and space to settle at his own pace. Once he has completed his quarantine period, the next exciting step will be introducing him to our resident llama, Henry.
Henry lives very happily alongside our sheep, and we’re hoping that Marlow and Henry will hit it off and become the best of friends. Of course, when it comes to introducing animals, there are no guarantees, so our animal care team will take things slowly and carefully to make sure both llamas are happy and comfortable.
Every animal that arrives at Hopefield has their own story, and our aim is to give each one the care, patience and security they need to enjoy the next chapter of their life. For Marlow, that means a safe home, plenty of space to explore, good care from our dedicated team and, hopefully, a new llama friend in Henry.
We’re so pleased to have been able to offer this lovely boy a home at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, where he can settle in, be himself and become part of our ever-growing family of rescued animals. We’ll keep you updated as Marlow settles in and, fingers crossed, when he finally gets to meet Henry!
Please join us in giving Marlow a very warm Hopefield welcome. 🦙💚
