New arrival alert! Doodle the muntjac deer!

Doodle joined the Hopefield family this week, and although she’s still far too small to head out into our large muntjac paddock just yet, once she’s done a bit more growing she’ll join Evie, Poppy & Forest, where they’ll live happily together for the rest of their lives.

Many people don’t realise that muntjac deer are classed as an invasive species in the UK, which means they cannot legally be released back into the wild if they’re found injured, abandoned or orphaned. Thankfully, we were granted a special licence to provide rescued muntjacs with a safe forever home here at the sanctuary.

We can’t wait to watch Doodle grow up.
