Many locals will probably remember hearing all about these notorious escape artists, who regularly found themselves wandering onto the A12 just down the road from us. We’d receive endless calls from worried drivers convinced that “our” horses had escaped.
Thankfully, we were able to track down their owner, who loved these horses dearly, but sadly was no longer able to safely manage their care, despite desperately wanting to. That’s when we stepped in and offered them a forever home here at the sanctuary, where they could finally be safe and out of harm’s way — for both themselves and members of the public.
Fast forward a year, and Tommy, Patsy, Rusty, Chip and Mary are now much-loved members of the Hopefield family… and honestly, we can’t imagine the sanctuary without them now
