Exotic animal rescue in Essex: Mali the Serval is our latest resident

As an exotic animal rescue in Essex, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of Mali the serval who we have been granted a DWA for.

We’ve been keeping a VERY exciting secret…

After months of waiting (and a lot of paperwork!), we’re absolutely thrilled to share that our DWA (Dangerous Wild Animal) licence has officially been granted — which means we can finally introduce you to Mali the serval

Mali came to us from an establishment that didn’t realise mum hadn’t been spayed… until she was pregnant — and along came Mali! He’s almost a year old, so still very much a baby, even if he’s already growing into a big character.

Following the heartbreaking loss of Ping the Coatimundi last year, we’ve lovingly repurposed his enclosure to make it perfect for Mali’s needs, with a brand-new large extension and a cosy indoor area built just for him. As one of the few exotic animal rescues in Essex, we were really happy to be able to take him in.

Mali has a huge personality, keeps Lianne very much on her toes (one of his favourite hobbies

), and has already made himself right at home. We’re incredibly proud to have been granted the licence to care for him, and to be able to offer the specialist care, facilities, and lifelong commitment he deserves. We can’t wait to watch him grow, thrive, and enjoy his life here with us.
