Many of you will remember Oreo, the rescue spaniel who arrived at Hopefield back in July — heartbreakingly emaciated and on the brink of starvation. After initially doing really well, in August, she gave us a real scare after developing an infection, likely a result of the immense stress and trauma her body had been through. Thankfully, she responded incredibly well to treatment and soon started to brighten up again.
Last week, Oreo was taken in to be spayed, but sadly, multiple tumours were discovered in her mammary glands. She’ll now need major surgery to remove them all once she’s fully recovered from her spay. This operation will cost around £1,500, which we will of course cover — but if you’d like to help contribute towards Oreo’s care, you can make a donation here:
Oreo has already overcome so much, and we’ll be with her every step of the way as she continues her journey to full health. Thank you so much for your continued love and support — it truly means the world
