Our Dog First Aid Training Course provides essential, hands-on knowledge to help you confidently respond to emergencies and potentially save a dog’s life. Ideal for dog owners, dog walkers, groomers, trainers, volunteers and animal care professionals, this course combines practical demonstrations with expert guidance in a supportive learning environment.

Topics Covered

During this comprehensive dog first aid course, you will learn:

  • What is Dog First Aid and why it’s essential
  • Legal responsibilities and how to remain compliant
  • Dog first aid equipment and what to include in a kit
  • Canine assessment and recognising emergencies
  • DRSABC
  • Primary and secondary surveys
  • Checking and monitoring vital signs
  • Canine CPR (demonstration and practical session)
  • Managing seizures
  • Bleeding control and bandaging techniques
  • Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV / bloat)
  • Canine shock
  • Water inhalation
  • Burns and scalds
  • Toxicity and poisoning
  • Heat stroke
  • Choking
  • Fractures and musculoskeletal injuries

Course Cost & Certification

£64.50 per person, which includes:

  • A comprehensive Dog First Aid handbook
  • Certified Dog First Aid ID card
  • An official certificate valid for 3 years upon successful completion
