Things to do in Essex with kids: an ethical day out with animals for the family

A day out in Essex that makes a difference.

If you’re looking for things to do in Essex with kids this summer and beyond then please do consider coming down to visit us. Not only do we have 53-acres to explore, but we also have an on-site tea room, a playground, animal talks and feeds (daily schedule changes regularly, so please ask when you arrive) and, of course, the chance to say hello to around 700 rescued birds, reptiles and animals of all shapes and sizes.

From alpacas to Highland cows, rabbits to donkeys, there are so many colourful characters to meet, some of whom you can find out more about in our blog here.

Not only are you guaranteeing a wholesome, fun day out in the Essex countryside, but by picking us as your day out in Essex, you’ll also be directly supporting the animals that call Hopefield their forever home. EVERY penny raised through your ticket, your visit to our cafe, your on-site purchases in our gift shop, etc, will be ploughed back into the sanctuary so that we can continue to rescue, rehabilitate and love the unfortunate souls that come our way.

Are there lots of choices for things to do in Essex with kids? Well, yes, of course! But if it’s an ethical animal experience that is a not-for-profit adventure that the whole family will love, then we would love you to choose us!
