RIP Rosie the Cat

After nearly two decades of being part of the Hopefield family, we’ve had to say a very sad goodbye to Rosie the cat.

💔 Goodbye, Beautiful Rosie 💔

We are heartbroken to share the sad news that our much-loved Rosie the cat passed away peacefully yesterday.

At the wonderful age of 17 (nearly 18), Rosie lived a long, happy, and deeply cherished life here at the sanctuary. She came to us as a tiny kitten, just a few days old, alongside her brother Ollie and sisters Tilly and Moggs, after the litter was found abandoned in a hedge and under threat from a dog.

From those fragile beginnings, Dave and Lianne devoted themselves to hand-rearing the kittens, providing round-the-clock care, warmth, and endless love. Thanks to that dedication, Rosie grew into a gentle and familiar presence who became part of the very fabric of the sanctuary for almost two decades.

We take comfort in knowing that Rosie is now reunited with her siblings, together once more 💫

Rest in peace, sweet Rosie. You were so loved, and you always will be.
