RIP Dustin the Sheep: Foster dad extraordinaire

We’re heartbroken to share the news that our beloved sheep, Dustin, sadly passed away after becoming suddenly unwell.

Dustin arrived at Hopefield back in 2018 as a tiny one-day-old lamb, alongside his brother Dougal. He was so fragile, we weren’t sure he’d pull through — but with lots of love and care, he grew into the most gentle, affectionate soul.

Over the years, Dustin became a wonderful foster dad to many lambs who arrived at the sanctuary. He had such a kind and calming presence and was truly adored by his whole sheep family here, as well as all of us who were lucky enough to care for him. He also held a special place in the hearts of many of our supporters, as one of the more popular animals in our sponsorship scheme. We know so many of you will feel this loss too.

Thank you for everything Dustin, you’ll be deeply missed by your brother Dougal, your flock, and your Hopefield family – rest in peace
