Rest in Peace, Blossom… We’re heartbroken to share the sad news that Blossom the bunny has passed away suddenly. Blossom was one of the two rabbits who were cruelly dumped at our gates in the middle of the night just a few months ago. She had been fit and healthy, happily enjoying her new life here with her bunny gang, showing no signs of illness. Because of the sudden nature of her passing, we arranged for a post-mortem to ensure it wasn’t caused by anything that could harm our other rabbits, such as Myxomatosis or RVHD. The results showed that Blossom had a serious problem with her lungs that sadly couldn’t have been prevented or treated, as she showed no symptoms, and it would have been something she arrived with, which is maybe why her previous owners dumped her and Nova in the first place.
Although she didn’t get to live out a long life here at Hopefield, we take comfort knowing that during her three months with us she was safe, loved, and truly spoilt every single day. We’ll miss you, beautiful Blossom
