Pony rescue in Essex: Fen has arrived at Hopefield

We had another arrival trot into the sanctuary earlier this week…

Meet Fen the rescue pony, who arrived earlier this week.

He came to us from another rescue we’re friends with who needed to find a new home for him. He’s 14 years old so still has plenty of life left in him yet, and he’ll get to spend it here at the sanctuary.

Like Wendy, who arrived a couple of weeks ago, he’ll now go into a period of quarantine before being introduced to some of our other horses.

We’re receiving a lot of enquiries at the moment to take in horses who can no longer be ridden, or whose owners can no longer afford them. Sadly, whilst we’d love to help them all, we don’t have an infinite amount of land or finances, and we’re prioritising urgent welfare cases from other rescues for the time being.
