How small changes can make a difference…
Earlier this month, our team arrived at the sanctuary to find that Palmer had caused significant damage to his face after managing to badly scratch it. Given Palmer’s existing liver condition, we know that related health issues can sometimes show up in unexpected ways, including skin irritation and discomfort, so it was clear that he needed veterinary attention. We rushed him to the vet for assessment and treatment, and Palmer spent the following week under professional care, where his skin was treated and his comfort carefully managed.
We are extremely grateful to the team at The Horse Clinic (House & Jackson) for their excellent care and attention during his stay. Their support has played an important role in helping Palmer feel more settled and comfortable again. We’re pleased to share that Palmer has now returned to the sanctuary. He is resting, being closely monitored by our team, and receiving plenty of extra care as he continues his recovery.
Thank you to everyone who keeps Palmer in their thoughts and supports the ongoing care of animals like him at Hopefield – we couldn’t do it without you!
