New primate licensing laws – CEO Dave is busy getting things ready

We absolutely welcome the new primate licensing laws, so we’re busy making sure everything we do meets the requirements.
Dave’s been hard at work upgrading our marmoset enclosure ahead of new primate licensing laws coming into force from 6th April. We’ve been making improvements to ensure everything meets the latest welfare standards — including increasing the height of the enclosure to give our cheeky monkeys even more space to climb and explore.

The new regulations mean anyone keeping primates must meet strict requirements around enclosure size, enrichment, diet and welfare checks — a really positive step forward for animals like marmosets, who are incredibly active and intelligent, and should never have been introduced into the pet trade in the first place. Safe to say Jimbo and his friends will be very happy with their upgraded home! The first Exotic Animal Weekend of the year will be happening on 6th & 7th June, so get your tickets booked early and come and see the new enclosure and all our exotic rescues soon!
