National Poultry Day 2022!

It’s National Poultry Day! We thought we’d share some fun facts about these amazing birds:

The cognitive skills of chickens are similar to those of a dog or cat.
Turkeys can run at speeds of up to 25mph & fly as fast as 55mph.
Ducks are outgoing, social animals who feel most at ease when they’re in a large group with others.

Morgan Sindall and National Highways recently came down to the sanctuary to lend a helping hand.

We had to say a very, very sad goodbye indeed to our oldest equine recently…

It doesn’t matter how many years our animals live, it’s never for long enough.
