Christmas is a magical time of year — full of kindness, compassion, and coming together to make a difference. Here at Hopefield, it’s also one of the most important seasons for our 600+ rescued residents.
Fidget & Peaches (Kune Kune x Vietnamese Pot Belly) came into the care of the sanctuary at just 8 weeks old. Their parents had been kept separately, but one evening, the boar broke through the fencing which resulted in 17 piglets being born!
Their owner desperately rang us trying to find homes for them, and we agreed to take two.
Did you know… the phrase ‘sweating like a pig’ isn’t accurate?! Pigs actually have very few sweat glands. Their favourite way to cool down is to wallow in mud!
