One of the hardest parts of animal rescue is having to say goodbye, and last week we had to say goodbye to Peaches the pig.
On 7th May we announced that due to correspondence received from APHA regarding our Invasive Alien Species (raccoons, tanuki, parakeets, terrapins, coatimundi, and grey squirrel), our Exotic Animal Welfare Days would no longer be going ahead.
Following a phone call from a very helpful gentleman at Natural England (NE) today, we are beyond pleased to inform you that these events are now BACK ON!
We have had written confirmation from NE that the information we were previously given was incorrect, and they have been very apologetic for the inconvenience and worry that this has caused us. The last couple of weeks we’ve been incredibly stressed about the effect of cancelling these events.
We would also like to thank everyone who emailed their concerns to APHA / Natural England, as it’s thanks to you that their mistake was even flagged up.
We will post further information about the re-launching of our Exotic Animal Welfare Days very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
