Our Dog First Aid Training Course provides essential, hands-on knowledge to help you confidently respond to emergencies and potentially save a dog’s life. Ideal for dog owners, dog walkers, groomers, trainers, volunteers and animal care professionals, this course combines practical demonstrations with expert guidance in a supportive learning environment.
Topics Covered
During this comprehensive dog first aid course, you will learn:
- What is Dog First Aid and why it’s essential
- Legal responsibilities and how to remain compliant
- Dog first aid equipment and what to include in a kit
- Canine assessment and recognising emergencies
- DRSABC
- Primary and secondary surveys
- Checking and monitoring vital signs
- Canine CPR (demonstration and practical session)
- Managing seizures
- Bleeding control and bandaging techniques
- Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV / bloat)
- Canine shock
- Water inhalation
- Burns and scalds
- Toxicity and poisoning
- Heat stroke
- Choking
- Fractures and musculoskeletal injuries
Course Cost & Certification
£64.50 per person, which includes:
- A comprehensive Dog First Aid handbook
- Certified Dog First Aid ID card
- An official certificate valid for 3 years upon successful completion
