When Ned arrived our staff were shocked by his state. After they learnt about Bella, they all put money together to save her too and then a few months later Peggy was born.
Minnie the Welsh Pony is our oldest equine resident at the sanctuary, at the ripe old age of 43 which is incredible for a pony! She had a terrible start to life, and was badly abused, but fortunately she was rescued by a very kind lady and had a lovely new home. Sadly, her new owner lost her land and was unable to keep her, so we agreed to take her in. She had a lot of problems with one of her eyes, and unfortunately all the treatments she was given didn’t work, so the vet recommended to have her eye removed. Due to her old age, her teeth aren’t in the best condition either, so she has a special diet of sloppy food which is much easier for her to chew and digest. She’s a very sweet, gentle pony, who loves being groomed by staff and volunteers.
