Came to Hopefield as her previous owner was rushed into hospital, and could no longer look after her.
Ned was saved from a traveller’s site when he was being advertised for sale in a poor condition. He was very underweight and his feet were really overgrown.
When we went to see Ned, he was with his pregnant friend Bella who the sanctuary couldn’t take back as she was worth too much money. When Ned arrived our staff were shocked by his state.
After they learnt about Bella, they all put money together to save her too. So Ned was reunited with her and then a few months later Peggy was born, so Ned got his little family. Although they live with other donkeys, there is still a special bond between the three of them.
