One of the hardest parts of animal rescue is having to say goodbye, and last week we had to say goodbye to Peaches the pig.
It was a very sad day at the sanctuary today as we lost two of our beloved residents.
Tootsie had a fall out in the field this afternoon, and suffered a break to the hock in her back leg – unfortunately there was nothing that the vets could do to save her. She arrived at the sanctuary 10 years ago, along with 7 other ponies who were going to be shot as their owner no longer wanted them. She will be dearly missed by all, but especially by her closest friend, Evie.
We also had to say goodbye to Pikachu, who we found had passed away in his sleep overnight. He had been undergoing veterinary treatment but sadly his body couldn’t continue fighting.
Pikachu came into our care after ending up in a wildlife rescue, when a member of the public found him in a ditch and mistook him for a badger.
