One of the hardest parts of animal rescue is having to say goodbye, and last week we had to say goodbye to Peaches the pig.
Recently, our old girl, Candy, was seen by Ana from House & Jackson vets as she’d become lame.
This was caused by laminitis, which is a result of Cushing disease. She had blood taken to analyse her levels determine if her medication needs to be altered. She also had X-Rays today to see if there has been any movement to her pedal bone. There had been some movement, so she will require shoes to make her more comfortable. Hopefully these will be fitted next week, depending on if she responds to treatment and is more comfortable.
