One of the hardest parts of animal rescue is having to say goodbye, and last week we had to say goodbye to Peaches the pig.
We need your help to keep our 500 rescued animals warm and fed this winter.
During the colder months, the amount of hay our residents eat increases drastically, and with the mud, their bedding is thickened and changed more frequently to keep them warm at all times.
We use 100 bales of hay and 100 bales of straw every week during the winter months. The current cost of a bale of hay is around £5.00 and straw is £3.00.
Our estimated hay and straw bill between now and March is around £7,500.
Due to the latest government restrictions, we have been forced to close to visitors 7 weeks earlier than planned, losing approximately £30,000, just from visitor-generated income.
This will have a devastating effect on our fundraising, and we need your support now more than ever.
This year has been incredibly difficult for everyone, and we couldn’t continue our life-changing work without generous supporters like you. We hope our posts and live streams will continue to shed some light during dark times.
Thank you so much for all your love and support. Our animals and all the team at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary are very grateful for your kindness.
